About me

Hi, I’m Katie, a British midwife living and working in Zürich.

I trained as a Midwife in the UK and began my career with the NHS before relocating to Switzerland in 2019, where I’ve been embracing a new culture (and learning German along the way!).

I’ve spent nearly 6 years working on a labor ward in Zürich, supporting women and families throughout the birth and I truly love what I do. In 2022, I noticed a real need for accessible English birth preparation resources within the expat community, so I began offering birth preparation courses designed specifically for English-speaking parents.

Then in 2023, I expanded my services to include postnatal care, which has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey so far. Supporting new parents during those early days is something I feel deeply honoured to do.

Today, my work focuses on supporting families during the transition into parenthood, through birth preparation, midwife consultations and postnatal care at home.

Outside of work, I’m a big fan of the outdoors, whether I’m hiking, exploring, or just soaking up some fresh air. I also love getting lost in a good book, painting and writing.

My Philosophy

I see birth as a natural, healthy event, not something to fear, but something to understand and trust. My approach is rooted in the belief that women’s bodies are inherently capable and that cultivating a positive mindset during pregnancy and birth can make a real difference.

While I deeply believe in the power and normalcy of physiological birth, I also fully support each person's individual choices, whether that means planning for a home birth, choosing pain relief, or opting for a cesarean. There is no one “right” way to give birth, and every path is valid.

My goal is to offer evidence-based guidance and truly personalised care that adapts to your unique needs. I aim to build trust, reduce fear, and create a calm, supportive space where you feel seen, informed, and respected, wherever you are on your journey.
